Some non-64 bit applications will unexpectedly quit in 64 bit mode. However, DVD Player, and Front Row are two applications within Mac OS X that are not 64 bit.Ħ4 bit is not enabled by default, though if you add memory to a Mac, it will address all of it as long as the Mac's specs allow it.Ī key sequence of the 6 and 4 key force the machine to start in 64 bit mode. Mac OS X has no memory limit inherant to the operating system itself.
